About
ABOUT

My name is Megan McClelland and I'm an aspiring journalist in my final phases of a Bachelor of Media and Communications (Journalism) at UNSW in Sydney.

Captivating journalism should not just be recapping something extraordinary. It should always be produced with a specific intention to allow readers to think critically and grasp an idea in a new light.

During the short time I've been discovering and experimenting with different writing styles, I've discovered that journalism cannot be pushed into one category - that's why I intend on pursuing this spirited and multifaceted method of one-to-many communication.

I have always had a strong passion for music - I grew up listening to diverse artists and genres and I feel that music is something that will always hover around us, something that can never be categorised or undermined. Naturally, I find myself drawn to music journalism and publications developed to promote and critique the arts. I pride myself on my knowledge of music and believe it is one of my important assets and I believe I could significantly contribute to many publications' music and arts sectors and departments. That being said, experience is key and any experience I gain at this point of my career is paramount to helping me find my place in the industry.

I am adamant that I can be a voice for something much larger than myself and I am more than ready to push myself journalistically.
